J.P. Morgan Asset Management ( JPMAM ) has appointed Swa Wu as its head of Asia ex-Japan investment specialists within its global fixed income, currency and commodities ( GFICC ) group, based in Hong Kong.

Wu, who reports to London-based Jemma Clee, the firm’s international head of investment specialists for GFICC, will lead the investment specialist team in Asia, working closely with portfolio managers to communicate the group’s investment capabilities and strategies to existing and prospective clients across funds and institutional channels throughout the region.

She returns to JPMAM with over a decade of experience as a senior fixed income investment specialist at the firm, complemented by her recent three-year tenure at Schroders as fixed income investment director. She has developed a deep understanding of local markets and established an extensive foothold and network across Asia.

The GFICC group at JPMAM, as of June 30, had US$920 billion in fixed income and currency assets under management. The team manages a broad range of strategies, through funds, exchange-traded funds or separate accounts, including broad market, long duration, stable value, intermediate high yield, emerging market debt, short and ultra-short duration, global bonds, structured products, mortgages and tax-aware strategies.

“Wu’s appointment underscores our commitment to supporting investors through evolving market environments and delivering outstanding service and solutions to our institutional clients and distribution partners in Asia,” Clee states. “Her extensive experience and long-standing tenure with the firm will be invaluable to the team and to the overall client experience.”
